Our History

From Start-Up to Global Player

Since its founding in 2008, AeroLogic has developed impressively from an ambitious start-up to an established international cargo airline.

  • Formation of the holding company

    2007

    The holding company Blitz 07-343 GmbH is founded - the legal foundation for AeroLogic.

  • Official founding

    2008

    On January 9, 2008, the company is named Aerologic GmbH. Both shareholder hold 50 percent of the shares each.

  • Start of flight operations

    2009

    Fleet size: 4 Boeing 777F

    On May 13, 2009, the first Boeing 777F, D-AALA, is delivered. A few days later, the Federal Aviation Authority grants the operating license.
    On June 25, 2009, the first aircraft takes off on a commercial flight: the beginning of scheduled operations.
     

    The first four Boeing 777Fs (D-AALA to D-AALD) are delivered, forming the foundation for flight operations.

  • First major office

    2011

    Fleet size: 8 Boeing 777F

    In September 2011, AeroLogic moves into its first large office at Industriestraße 70 in Schkeuditz - the home for the next 12 years.

  • Fleet growth and new destinations

    2017

    Fleet size: 10 Boeing 777F

    Two used aircraft, D-AALI and D-AALJ, join the fleet, expanding capacity.

     

  • Further fleet expansion

    2019

    Fleet size: 14 Boeing 777F

    After a short break, new aircraft join the fleet: D-AALK, D-AALM and D-AALN, along with D-AALL – appearing for the first time in the yellow-and-red DHL livery.

  • Continuous fleet and network expansion

    2020 – 2022

    Fleet size: 21 Boeing 777F

    During the challenging pandemic, the fleet grows with several Boeing 777Fs. The network is continuously expanded.
    AeroLogic establishes itself as a reliable partner for international air cargo.
     

  • New office building for a growing team

    2023

    Fleet size: 22 Boeing 777F

    Following the growing workforce (800 employees at the time), AeroLogic moves into a modern office building on the DHL Campus, with a canteen, social rooms, and rest areas for pilots.
     

  • A new chapter, 28 aircraft and 1,000 employees

    2025

    Fleet size: 28 Boeing 777F

    With D-AERA and D-AERB, AeroLogic receives aircraft with a new registration series - a significant step in the company’s history and a symbol of looking toward the future. The fleet now includes 28 Boeing 777Fs, delivering cargo safely and on time worldwide.
    The AeroLogic team continues to grow: in August 2025, the 1,000th employee joins.
